Turandot - Classic Overlapping Style

Made to measure

Fabric:
Width: 70   inch ?

For valance only, add 6 inches or more to the window width when you order; for a full set, add 10 inches or more (we recommend using two rods/poles). If the wall space is limited, use the width of the wall (subtract a few inches) as the width when you order online.

Height: 96   inch ?

This refers to the overall height of the window treatment. It is from where you want to hange the valance/curtains down to the floor. Feel free to add a few inches if you want a puddled look.

The height of a swag is usually around 1/5 - 1/4 of the overall height. The height of a tail (side cascade piece) is roughly twice the height of a swag.

Recommended measuring instructions

Width: order at least 6 inches wider than the window width if you want valance only; 10"-30" wider (if the wall space allows) than the window width if you want a full set. If the wall space is limited, use the wall width minus a few inches as the width.

Height: from where you want to hang the window treatment down to the floor

Easy Installation

It is as easy as installing any regular curtains except that you might want to use two separate rods. The rod for the drape panels will be installed slightly lower and inside the rod for the valance. Since both valance and drape panels have rod pocket on top, just slide the rods through the rod pockets and hang both rods onto the supporting brackets. Done!

Measurement guide for different window types

For rectangular windows, make sure to order window treatment that is wider and taller than your window, i.e. make sure the window treatment can fully cover your window. You can size up as big as the wall space allows.

6-inch rule: add at least 6 inches to the window width for each curtain rod you might use when you order online. For valance only or panel only, add 6 inches or more when you order online(one rod); for a full set, add 12 inches or more (we recommend using two curtain rods). If the wall space is limited, take the wall width (subtract a few inches) as the width when you order online.

Please refer to the measurement guide for more details.

Measurement-Rec

For an arch window, you can treat it as a rectangular window and put the curtain rods over the arch or under the arch.

Measurement - Arch

Or you can estimate the arch width by 1.5 x window width and hang the valance along the arch line (holdback style).

Measurement-Arch-2

For bay windows, you can simply treat them as three separate rectangular windows when ordering online.

How to install a rod-pocket valance curtain set?

Measurement and Installation Guide

Instruction-window frame measurement

Measurement

When you order online, width refers to the valance width, and height refers to the curtain panel height.

We recommend using two single curtain rods of 1" - 2" in diameter: the top one is for the valance with swags and tails, and the lower one for the two curtain panels. This way, you have more flexibility in adjusting height, width and projection (distance from the wall). The valance rod should be fixed wider, higher, and projected further away from the wall than the panel rod.

Curtain Rod Bracket Installation

Brackets Installation

The brackets for the panel rod should be installed at least 3'' below and inside those for the valance rod. The same applies to the brackets for the panel rod to the window. This way, we can make sure the valance and the curtain panels can fully cover the window.

For example, if your window is 58'' wide and 80'' to the floor, you might want to order a full set of 84'' in height and 70'' in width. If you have enough wall space, you can go as wide as you like. The above is for your reference as to the minimum setback.

Valance and Curtains Rod Pocket Installation

Brackets Installation(side view)

The brackets for valance rod should be at least 3'' longer than those for the panel rod. This way, we can leave some clearance between the valance and the underneath curtain panels.

Hang the valance rod onto the upper rod brackets. Shape the swags from the top side to the lower center in a "U" shape to smooth out the curves and folds.

You are done! Enjoy your beautiful window treatment.

For valances of 80'' or wider, there will be an opening at the back of the rod pockets in case you need an extra bracket to support the rod.
